The SmartFarmNexus pilot project is a partnership of businesses, communities, and individuals. Beginning with a single smart farm box (SmartBox), we will deploy interior hydroponics systems in multiple locations. These SmartBoxes will be located throughout the community at large, from backyards to low use open space to orchards and groves. The system will be set up to produce an excess of food. As the system becomes a source of food, starting from a single crop, planning will commence expanding the system to its limits, growing varieties of food. Then we will call it a FoodBox. Join the team, support the team and grow a community of FoodBoxes.
Let's talk about technology. Each location will also incorporate learning experiences and outcomes, remote and local. We do this by enabling learner (students and community members) projects that empower them and exposes them to new and different career pathways.
The SmartFarmNexus is an iterative basis to correcting and mitigating age-long human activity and abuse of our lands, whether public and private; or communal and isolated. SmartBoxes are self-sustaining and robust integrations of the latest intuitive and scientific knowledge. We know that there is no cookie-cutter regime to deploy, it is the additive attitudes, confidence, and work ethic of the community. Meaning, some communities will thrive and others will falter or be laid to waste. We don't want this. The Rodale Institute is an exemplary authority on some to the techniques and ideas we will be deploying in the SmartFarmNexus. Support us in our efforts to learn and understand community/environmental dynamics that work to progress positive and learning, growing futures.
